The New Forest, Hampshire
John and his uni friends go away once a year on little jaunts to the countryside. This year, they (and I) went to the New Forest, in Hampshire. It's not very new really - William the Conqueror created it a royal forest in 1079 for hunting, so it was new then. You can read all about it on Wikipedia. I once read a book called The Forest, which was all about this area, but John's friends just took the piss out of me every time I mentioned it. Bastards ;)
