Australia was the adventure of a lifetime. But quite apart from making some great friends for life, I was constantly amazed by the variety of breathtaking scenes that I took in during my time there. My initial three months travelling took me from the sparkling cityscapes to glorious sandy white beaches, lushly sun-dappled rainforests, arid red deserts, copper-glinting gorges, croc-infested rivers, coral-encrusted and fish-crowded reefs, and the dazzling blue waters of the open sea. And that's before I even get started on the landmarks.
Everywhere I had my trusty Canon Ixus to record the moments, but sometimes I had to just pocket it so I could just take in the beauty of the panoramas before me. I hope you can get a feel of the wild splendour of the sunburnt country from these pictures.
